Pergamon’s culture of craftsmen allows them to build efficiently, grow quickly, and recruit mercenaries cheaply when danger approaches. And Colchis is a trading state whose people are now far removed from their Aegean origin, earning them the ire and distrust of all ‘true’ Greeks.
