QA Technician (12-month placement)
Feral Interactive is offering year-long industrial placements within our Functional QA team for current university students studying for a computer games related degree.
We specialise in bringing AAA games to new platforms and audiences; our releases cover a range of genres and present a variety of quality control challenges.
Our QA team work closely with the onsite development teams to track down the root causes of issues and iterate towards solutions. As part of this you will be validating behaviour against functionality and game design compliance checklists; running performance tests and comparisons with the original release on various hardware configurations; identifying issues with graphics, performance, gameplay, multiplayer as well as UI and UX ensuring both functionality and layout are intuitive and correct. You will also be expected to write accurate and detailed bug reports.
This is a great opportunity to place yourself at the heart of the QA cycles of several games and gain invaluable experience of the entire process during which you will have the support of our experienced QA members.
We have been consistently impressed by how well most students do and how much they contribute during their time with us. Students who perform well during their placement are usually offered a permanent position with Feral for after they graduate. A number of our current colleagues started as placement students.
This is a full-time position for 12 months at our studio in Wandsworth, London. Placements usually start over the summer after the end of the academic year, with most students joining us during July.
