Junior Systems Administrator

Feral Interactive is looking for an enthusiastic technician to build and maintain our hardware and systems, as well as provide 1st line IT support. This is an excellent entry-level opportunity to learn new IT skills and is ideal for someone with a love for computing who’s keen to get into systems work.

You will work closely with our Systems Administrators to upgrade and deploy equipment, so experience with PC building is essential. We have a variety of systems including Mac, Windows, Linux and console, so you must be comfortable with multiple platforms. You will also help maintain our inventory of hardware and software, as well as troubleshooting our IT infrastructure when necessary. The successful candidate will also assist with server administration including maintaining software and security updates, monitoring server activity and setting up new instances of servers and applications.

Our ideal candidate will also be keen to learn new software and pick up new skills; we are most interested in candidates who can show they have the potential to develop rapidly and the desire to advance quickly.

This is a permanent, full time position at our studio in Wandsworth, south-west London.

Required Skills and Experience

  • Experience building PCs, particularly with Linux operating systems
  • Knowledge of troubleshooting Windows, Mac or Linux operating systems
  • Demonstrable technical knowledge regarding gaming hardware
  • Strong written and verbal communication

Desired Skills and Experience

  • Proficiency in at least one major scripting language, such as Bash, Perl or Python
  • Ability to self-manage and learn independently as well as take direction
  • A desire to do your best work all of the time
