Create The Stars

One of the key elements of The Movies is nurturing the Stars. You get to scout promising talent and manage their development. Do it well and those young wannabes will blossom into huge stars, bringing home the bacon to your studio. Fail and you'll end up with young has-beens or worse, ungrateful stars who walk out on you at the drop of a rival studio's contract.

Caution: Handle with Care.

Stars are a studio's most valuable assets, but they aren't machines; they are all-too human, tantrum-prone and temperamental. So, how to get the best from them? Is the correct approach tough love; crush a few dreams and show them who's boss? Or should you use kid gloves and indulge their every whim, giving them huge trailers, private jets and giant egos? The debate rages.

When Stars Go Bad

Any star will tell you, it’s not easy being loved by millions, being paid millions and having millions of friends. Stardom means it's all too easy to slip into a whirlwind of addiction, eating disorders and monstrous mood swings. And when this happens – and it will happen – it's up to you to sort it. Dry them out, clean them up, get them dieting or down to the gym — it doesn't matter how you do it, just get them back on their feet and working.
