Nation Building
Creating a firm foundation on which to build your empire begins from the first turn. You have some money, raw materials and a small army, but there are no structures in place to help you impress your rule over Europe. The generation of wealth through international trade will be key to continental domination.

Diplomacy
Only the right alliances and treaties will ensure the steady growth of your empire and sow the seeds of animosity between your enemies. Typically, to establish a treaty you must give gold, raw materials, or food to the other country. Being able to win friends and influence other nations is essential for overall dominance.

Expansion
It is vital to expand your empire, through either conquest or peaceful annexation. Peaceful annexation is sometimes a slow task and is not always successful, but results in a far higher sympathy rating from other neutral countries– making them easier to annex!

You must also keep your military strength high to serve as a deterrent and to be available for expansion through conquest. In war, the best strategist will be victorious, so manage your military forces wisely. Bear in mind that the capitals of the five major empires must be conquered militarily.
