If you have purchased Medieval II: Total War Collection, you already own the Kingdoms expansion.

Otherwise, you can purchase the expansion from its page on the Steam store:

Playing Medieval II: Total War Kingdoms

The Medieval II: Total War Kingdoms expansion contains four new campaigns that can be played in either single-player or “hotseat” multiplayer mode:

Each campaign also includes a number of new scenario battles and maps for custom battles.

Once you have purchased Medieval II: Total War Kingdoms, a dialog will appear each time you launch Medieval II: Total War™, giving you the opportunity to select whether you want to play the base game or one of the Kingdoms campaigns.

  2. How do I order Rufus to board the fleet during The Norman Conquest tutorial?

A glitch sometimes occurs during the campaign tutorial that makes it impossible to order Rufus to board the fleet when your advisor tells you to do so.

If this occurs, move the fleet back and forth along the small stretch of coastline south of William the Conqueror's location, until it has run out of movement points. You can then end the turn by clicking on the highlighted hourglass icon.

Once the new turn begins, you will be able to order Rufus to board the fleet.

  3. Will Medieval II: Total War™ work on my Linux distro?

Medieval II: Total War™ has been fully tested on Ubuntu 14.04. For the best gameplay experience, we recommend you use this distro.

The game should also work on other recent versions of Ubuntu, and may also work on other Linux distros; however, as the game has not been tested on these, it is possible that you will encounter performance and gameplay issues, and we do not currently offer support for other versions or distros.

  5. Switching to a virtual terminal causes the game to crash or the graphics to render incorrectly. How do I prevent this from happening?

Switching between a virtual terminal (by pressing Ctrl + Alt + F1-F6) and the X server (by pressing Ctrl + Alt + F7) while the game is running may cause the game to crash or the graphics to render incorrectly.

The problem will be fixed the next time you launch the game.

We do not recommend switching to a virtual terminal while running the game, as the problem is likely to occur each time you do so.
