  1. How do I obtain DLC?

    All available DLC for GRID 2 Reloaded Edition can be purchased from the game's page on the Steam store:

    The following DLC packs are available to purchase on Steam:


    If you have purchased GRID 2 Reloaded Edition, you already own all of these DLC packs except the Demolition Derby and Car Unlock packs. The Demolition Derby pack is a free download.

  2. How do I access DLC?

    Once purchased, DLC will automatically be enabled in your copy of GRID 2 Reloaded Edition.

    The additional cars and tracks will be available in the relevant game modes.

    The Demolition Derby pack includes a brand new race type that can be played in single- or multiplayer. To play a demolition derby, set your Race Type to Demolition Derby from the race options screen that appears before starting an event.

  3. Does GRID 2 Reloaded Edition support achievements?

    Yes, achievements are supported by GRID 2 Reloaded Edition.

    If you are signed in to Steam, your achievements will be visible to you in-game and also to other players through the Steam application.

  4. Can I play GRID 2 Reloaded Edition with a gamepad?

    Yes.

    The gamepads in the following list have been tested and are supported by GRID 2 Reloaded Edition:


    If your gamepad is not on the list, email padsupport@feralinteractive.com and our support team will reply to you with a request for information about your device. Once we have this information, a gamepad support file will be created and emailed to you.

    Once created, this gamepad support file will be used in all future games and updates - so you will not only be helping us get your device working; you will also help all other owners of the same device who play Feral games!

  5. Are there any gamepads that are recognized but unsupported?

    Yes.

    The following gamepads will be recognized by the game but do not have enough buttons or analog controls to support all the possible in-game controls, meaning some in-game tasks will require the keyboard or mouse:

  6. Can I use a steering wheel with GRID 2 Reloaded Edition?

    Yes, most standard USB wheels will work with GRID 2 Reloaded Edition. The wheels in the following list have been tested:


    You may need to map the game controls to inputs on your wheel and its components (such as pedals, if available) before racing. To do this, follow these instructions:

    1. Ensure that your wheel and any components are connected to your Mac, then launch GRID 2 Reloaded Edition.

    2. From the Main Menu, select World Series Racing.

    3. Select Options & Extras.

    4. Select Options.

    5. Select Controls.

    6. Select Steer Left, then perform the action on your wheel or pedal to which you wish to map the "steer left" command.

    7. Repeat step 6 for all the other game commands, mapping them to the desired action on your wheel or pedal.


    NOTE: Force Feedback (FFB) is supported by GRID 2 Reloaded Edition. Unfortunately, many hardware manufacturers do not provide Force Feedback drivers for Mac OS X. This means that Force Feedback may not currently work in GRID 2 Reloaded Edition.

  7. How do I play a splitscreen multiplayer game in GRID 2 Reloaded Edition?

    Before playing a splitscreen multiplayer game, ensure at least two input devices are plugged into your Mac before you launch GRID 2 Reloaded Edition.

    Unless otherwise specified, the following instructions are written for Player 1:

    1. From the Main Menu, select World Series Racing.

    2. Select Events.

    3. Select Splitscreen.

    4. A dialog will appear prompting Player 2 to press the Start button. Player 2 must press a button on their input device to continue.

    5. The Splitscreen menu will appear. Select Custom Event.

    6. The game options screen will appear. From here, you can customize the game settings. When you are happy with your settings, select Done.

    7. Select Go to Race.

    8. The car selection screen will appear. Select a car.

    9. The car selection screen will reappear. Player 2 must select a car.

    10. The game will begin once Player 2 has selected a car.

  8. How do I play a multiplayer game in GRID 2 Reloaded Edition on Steam?

    How you play an online multiplayer game in GRID 2 Reloaded Edition differs depending on whether you wish to host or join the game.

    To host:

    1. From the Main Menu, select GRID Online.

    2. Select Events.

    3. Select Online.

    4. The Online Party Lobby will appear. Select Online Custom Event.

    5. Select Create Game.

    6. A dialog will appear asking you whether you wish to allow players to use downloadable content. Select your preferred option. If you select Yes, players who do not own DLC being used in the game may not be able to join the game.

    7. The game options screen will appear. From here, you can customize the game settings. When you are happy with your settings, select Done.

    8. To invite friends from your Steam friends' list to the game, select Invite Friends. Otherwise, proceed to step 10.

    9. The Choose Friends to Invite dialog will appear. Click the Invite button next to the name(s) of the friend(s) you wish to invite, then select Return to Game.

    10. When you are happy with your settings and the other players have joined the game, select Start.

    11. The car selection screen will appear once all the currently connected players have indicated that they are ready or after 15 seconds, whichever is the sooner. Select a car.

    12. The game will begin once all the currently connected players have selected a car or after 20 seconds, whichever is the sooner.


    To join:

    1. From the Main Menu, select GRID Online.

    2. Select Events.

    3. Select Online.

    4. The Online Party Lobby will appear. Select Online Custom Event.

    5. Select Custom Match.

    6. Use the filters to select the type of game you wish to search for, then select Search.

    7. A list of games matching your criteria will appear. Select the game you wish to join.

    8. The lobby will appear. To invite friends from your Steam friends' list to the game, select Invite Friends. Otherwise, proceed to step 10.

    9. The Choose Friends to Invite dialog will appear. Click the Invite button next to the name(s) of the friend(s) you wish to invite, then select Return to Game.

    10. Select Ready Up.

    11. When the host starts the game, the car selection screen will appear. Select a car.

    12. The game will begin once all the currently connected players have selected a car or after 20 seconds, whichever is the sooner.


    NOTE: Additional players can join the session while the game is in progress, but will not be able to take part until the next game begins.

  9. Is GRID 2 Reloaded Edition optimized for Retina displays?

    Yes.

    If you have a Retina display, you will be able to take advantage of the extra pixels by running GRID 2 Reloaded Edition in native resolution. This means that the game will display one pixel for every pixel on your display.

    To do this, follow these instructions:

    1. From the GRID 2 Reloaded Edition pre-game Options window, select the Video tab.

    2. Select the largest resolution from the Resolution drop-down menu to play the game in native Retina resolution.

    3. Click the Play button. The game will start in native Retina resolution.

    NOTE: In many cases, increasing your game's resolution will impact upon its performance. For tips on improving performance, read the Performance Tips point in the ReadMe. For information on how video settings affect performance in Mac games, read our Guide to video settings.

  10. Where are my saved games stored?

    Your saved games are stored in your game's preferences folder.

    To open this folder, click the Open Preferences Folder button in the Info/About tab of the pre-game Options window.

    You can also navigate to the preferences folder manually. It is stored in the Feral Interactive folder in your computer's ~/Library/Application Support folder (where the "~" symbol refers to your home directory).

    By default, the Library folder is hidden from your Finder. To open it, follow these instructions:

    1. Open the Finder.

    2. Open the Go menu from the main toolbar.

    3. Hold down the Alt (⌥) key. The Library option will appear.

    4. Click on the Library option. The Library folder will open in your Finder.

  11. How do I stop the dock, notifications and the desktop cursor from appearing while I'm playing GRID 2 Reloaded Edition?

    The dock or notifications may occasionally appear while you are playing GRID 2 Reloaded Edition, or the desktop cursor may replace the game cursor. This can disrupt a game.

    You can prevent them from occurring by checking the Hide the Dock (disables notifications) checkbox in the GRID 2 Reloaded Edition pre-game Options window. To do so, follow these steps:

    1. From the GRID 2 Reloaded Edition pre-game Options window, select the Advanced tab.

    2. Check the Hide the Dock (disables notifications) checkbox.

  12. When I press the Function keys (F1-F19) nothing happens. How do I use the Function keys?

    By default, macOS uses the F keys to control items such as volume and brightness. To use an F key for a game command hold down the fn key, then press the F key you wish to use.

    To automatically enable the F keys, follow these steps (depending on the version of macOS you are running):

    1. Open System Settings ( MenuSystem Settings).

    2. Click on Keyboard.

    3. Select the Keyboard Shortcuts button (macOS Ventura).

    4. Click on Function Keys (macOS Ventura).

    5. Turn on Use F1, F2, etc. keys as standard function keys.

    The F keys will now work without using the fn key.

  13. Why does music in iTunes pause when I start playing GRID 2 Reloaded Edition?

    By default, music playing in iTunes will be paused when you start playing GRID 2 Reloaded Edition.

    To turn this feature off, follow the steps below:

    1. Double-click on the GRID 2 Reloaded Edition application icon. The pre-game Options window will appear.

    2. Select the Extras tab.

    3. Uncheck the Pause iTunes while playing GRID 2 Reloaded Edition checkbox.

    4. Select the Play button to start playing.

    To turn this feature back on at a later date, simply check the Pause iTunes while playing GRID 2 Reloaded Edition checkbox and then select the Play button.

  14. How do I take screenshots in GRID 2 Reloaded Edition?

    To take screenshots while playing GRID 2 Reloaded Edition you should use the following key command:

    Command (⌘) + Shift (⇧) + P

    When you press all three keys at once, a single image of the on-screen contents will be saved in the Feral Interactive folder in your computer's ~/Pictures folder (the "~" symbol refers to your home directory).

    The JPEG image contains metadata in a string in the following format.

    GameName/Version Number (OS Version; CPU Speed; Installed RAM; Video RAM; Current Graphics Card)

    For example in GRID 2 Reloaded Edition the string might look a little like this:

    gamesystemname/1.0 (macOS 10.15; 3.0; 8.0; 4.0; AMD Radeon R9 M395X)

    This information can be easily removed by exporting the screenshot into a different format using Preview or another image editing tool.

    NOTE: None of the metadata stored can be used to identify the user.

  15. Can I run GRID 2 Reloaded Edition in windowed mode?

    Yes.

    To run GRID 2 Reloaded Edition in windowed mode, follow these instructions:

    1. From the GRID 2 Reloaded Edition pre-game Options window, select the Video tab.

    2. Check the Run in a window checkbox.

    3. Click the Play button. The game will start in windowed mode.

    NOTE: Enabling windowed mode may decrease the game's performance.

  16. GRID 2 Reloaded Edition runs slowly on my computer. Is there anything I can do to increase the speed?

    There are several factors which have an impact on the speed at which GRID 2 Reloaded Edition runs. Please see the GRID 2 Reloaded Edition Performance Tips section in the ReadMe for ways to increase the speed at which the game runs on your computer.
