Chinese Language Specialist
Feral Interactive is looking for a native Chinese speaker to help us bring great computer games to new audiences. We take great pride in developing fully localised ports that satisfy all the expectations of our customers, including native language support. We are now looking to add Simplified Chinese to our portfolio.
This role is ideal for someone with a background in translation or localisation QA who will relish the opportunity to be involved in all aspects of bringing a game to release, from localisation and QA through to marketing and customer support.
You will work closely with several managers across different areas of the company, including our Localisation Manager, QA Leads, Sales and Marketing Managers and Customer Support Team. Most of your responsibilities will involve translating or proofreading materials games in development. You will also work with our QA department to verify that in-game Chinese text and audio are flawless and with our Support team to respond in a timely manner to customer support requests in Chinese.
On the commercial side, we would like you to help us expand our reach in China through the localisation of marketing materials and direct communication with press and distributors.
This is a permanent, full time position based at our studio in Wandsworth, south-west London.
Required Skills and Experience
- Professional experience translating from English to Simplified Chinese
- Native Chinese speaker proficient in Simplified Chinese
- Fluent English, both written and verbal
Desired Skills and Experience
- Previous localisation QA experience
- Strong understanding of gaming culture and terminology
- Familiarity with relevant social media channels
- Annual salary from £24k, based on skills and experience
